A celebration of the diversity of cultures as expressed through stories and folktales will be the focus of Antelope Valley College’s StoryFest, 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Antelope Valley College Choral Room, FA3-162, 3041 W. Ave. K, Lancaster.
Organizer Terry Rezek said the StoryFest is an opportunity to share stories that have been passed down from prior generations.
“There were tales of the hunt and the harvest, stories of conquests and defeats. Children were instructed, elders guided and the fabric of a people (knit) together by their history,” Rezek said.
The event is open to the community. Anyone interested in telling can contact Rezek, (661) 948-1361 or trezek@avc.edu.
Attendees will be asked to make a $5 donation at the door, with proceeds to benefit student scholarships through the Antelope Valley College Foundation.
