look here. 26th Juried Art Exhibition

Situated at a threshold between old and new, past and future, LMAG’s twenty-sixth juried art exhibition embraces the idea of being “in between” by expanding to the streets. “look here.” will explore the idea that virtually any place can be designated a museum and recognized as aesthetically or historically valuable. Spaces along The BLVD, both figuratively and literally between the new and current museum sites, will receive this designation and offer locales where artwork can be displayed publicly and artists can create communally. The streets themselves become the museum, facilitating unusual instances for expression and encounter and a truly collective public art experience.
“look here.” asks the artists of the High Desert to lead the way; to forge a path in creating a collaborative, collective and civic juried art exhibition on The BLVD that will cross that threshold into the new museum.
“look here.” accepts artwork submissions in any medium, from oil paintings to electronic circuits. The exhibition seeks to present the wide variety of artistic expression resident in the High Desert. Shirlae Cheng-Lifshin from the Pasadena Museum of California Art and Los Angeles-based painter Gegam Kacherian will be the jurors for “look here.” and will draw upon their curatorial and art-making experiences to select works for public display at the museum and throughout The BLVD.
