“Up Current” marks opening of art gallery season
A group exhibition featuring works by college faculty members marks the opening of a new season for the Antelope Valley College Art Gallery located at 3041 W. Ave. K, Lancaster.
The show, themed “Up Current,” is open now through Sept. 23. It marks the first public showing for a number of works by the college’s diverse group of professional and practicing artists.
“This is a chance to see the aesthetic philosophies of our Fine Arts Department on display, as well as witness the visual talents of faculty from a range of disciplines including creative writing, foreign language and mathematics,” said Christine Mugnolo, gallery director.
Gallery shows are free and open to the public. Hours are Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m.-9 p.m. The gallery is on the southwest side of campus in building FA1.
