Sagebrush Café is hosting a flash-fiction contest. It’s happening here in collaboration with theAV Arts Blog.
Write a piece of flash-fiction inspired by or related to one of the photographs by local photographers posted on the contest pages. It’ll be like a caption, kind of. You are invited to be creative.
We’re calling it a Flash-Fiction Caption Contest but that doesn’t mean you have to write an actual caption. Write whatever you want as long as it relates to the photo somehow.
You can enter a flash-fiction caption for each photo if you’d like, but please only enter once per photo.
The winning pieces will be awarded $25 and there will be two winners – one winner for each photo, selected by the participating photographers.
Email your flash-fiction captions to poeticwax@rocketmail.com New entries will be posted along side previous entries as the month goes on. In your email, please let us know which photo (#1 or #2) your story is connected to.
Send along any questions to the same address.

- All entries should be prose fiction between 200 and 750 words.
- One entry per photo/image per person limit (Writers can submit entries for each photo)
- All entries should be submitted by July 21, 2015
